THE RUAH - a cosy cliff top retreat for two. It is a well-equipped self-catering cottage.
It's ideal for bird watching, walking, cloud spotting, star gazing or just relaxing. The Ruah comprises a small entrance hall, combined lounge and kitchen and a bedroom with en suite shower room. The Ruah is open all year – and offers weekly (£300) or daily rates (£50 - minimum of two nights). Although we are close to the pier, it would be an advantage to have some form of transport as we are about four miles from the shop.
If you give us a bit of notice we can provide you with a pre-prepared meal to eat at Ruah or we can make you some soup and sandwiches for lunch. We always have Green Farm free-range eggs for sale.
The satellite image (Google Earth) above shows the boundaries of Green Farm. Green Farm is home to Val and Allan Welsh. Green is a working farm (at least that’s what we like to tell people) and at the moment there are chickens in one of the buildings next to The Ruah – they are very friendly so residents find it’s worthwhile keeping the front door shut when they're not around! There are a few sheep and (more) chickens throughout the farm, so please ensure you leave gates as you find them. Please avoid approaching working machinery and wash your hands if you touch the animals.
The beach at The Ruah is stony, but there are some lovely rock pools among the outcrops (geos) if you can make it down there. Westwards from The Ruah are the Sands of Green - please note this is not a coastal path, so take care especially if there are high winds. The ground is rough and uneven, and in places the cliff is being undercut - and the distance between the cliff and fence line is getting narrower! It is safer to walk up to the farm and across the fields.
